All About LA
Hi!
I'm LA (as in tra-la-la) Bourgeois, a Kaizen-Muse Certified Creativity Coach and professional writer with experience in editing and self-publishing my own book as well as shepherding others through the process.
My own writing spans journalism, creative non-fiction, ghostwriting and copywriting. You can find my work at places like WritersFunZone.com, Psychology Today, Mountain Xpress, and OutFrontMagazine.com. And, if you love to laugh, visit the Diary of a Lesbian Housewyfe for my latest personal update!
My background includes operating small businesses and non-profits with a focus on what I call the "housework" of the business including marketing, bookkeeping, HR, and all of the other little things that keep businesses running, as well as a B.A. in Theatre.
Oh, and I loooooooooove newsletters! If you want to develop your relationship with your clients through a newsletter, my expertise can help you avoid pitfalls and create consistent communication that deepens connections.
Another great way to get to know me and my philosophy is to subscribe to my blog/newsletter right here!
Please let me know if I can answer any further questions. You can reach me at la@labourgeois.biz. I look forward to chatting!
Happy Day!

And I am here to empower you as we walk toward your dream, together.
Authors who want to build a platform and finish their book
“I've worked with LA for the past two years and she has offered many practical and creative solutions, mid-wived me through the publication of my book, Seasons of Wild Life, as well as assisted with newsletter creation and many other nuts and bolts items.” - Annette Naber, Author
Artisans who are grieving and want to reignite their creative passion
“Working with LA has been an eyeopening, rewarding and productive experience. When we first met I was lost. LA truly listened to me and my story and gently guided me to find my way. She helped me to re-ignite my creativity and allowed me the time and space to dig in and discover my purpose. I really look forward to our weekly meetings- it keeps me focused, on task and on track to reach my business goals- which 8 weeks ago I didn’t know I had!” – Katherine Simonetti, Katherine Alexander Fine Jewelry
People who want some quiet time to finish the dang book
“Book lovers, if you're looking for a relaxing vacation that's out of the norm, this is it. I loved the reading retreat because not only was I able to make significant progress on books of interest, but I was also able to connect with people with whom I had so much in common. Birdy's house was quiet and comfortable, and the walkable town of Delhi featured a wonderful bookstore, an arts collective, and several cute boutiques. If you value a vacation full of conversation, reading, and the opportunity to recharge your soul, join LA's reading retreat.” - Karen R.
Kaizen-Muse Creativity Coaching
I am certified in Kaizen-Muse Creativity Coaching, a practice that uses mindfulness, intuition, and creative self-talk to make continuous improvement through small steps in any creative endeavor including the creative process of being alive and living deeply.
This creativity coaching model takes into account the dynamics of how humans approach the creative process: Our tendency to forget what works, doubt ourselves, fail to finish projects, compare ourselves to others, and give-up when it's not perfect. KMCC fosters “awareness” as a powerful tool in and of itself, and a non-linear, unique approach that helps individuals use existing strengths in combination with intuition, acceptance, in-session experiences, packaged creativity "tools" and upgraded common sense.
KMCC works particularly well with people:
in resistance or rebellion
who doubt they are creative
with immobilizing perfectionism and chronic procrastination
experiencing feelings of overwhelm, lack of focus, or fear
having difficulty starting or restarting
who have many ideas and don't know which one to begin
needing support and structure in a non-threatening, low pressure way
who understand that creativity has no ceiling and want to go deeper
who are interested in connection of mindfulness, intuition, and creativity
who love the creative process and wants to explore more
So how do we do this work?
We unlock your wisdom and creativity to overcome the obstacles to your chosen project. This happens through email coaching, face-to-face coaching, and retreats. Discover more details and pricing by clicking below.
